Every September our kids begin a new school year with renewed resolve and high hopes of staying on top of their work and the organizational demands that come with it. Hoping to make this easier for them, we all head off to Staples or our local School supply store and fill our baskets with a ton of new Organizing Supplies. Job done! All should be well now right? But In the Real World, what usually happens is that within a few short weeks, the old problems of disorganization, lost or forgotten papers & overwhelm & procrastination begin all over again.
So why does this keep happening? Why with all their good intentions and their shiny new supplies do they still fail all over again? – Well there are quite a few reasons, but one of the main ones is that the Organization Tools/Supplies they have are simply the wrong ones. In my experience the Organizing Tools we give our students need to be very specific, not only for the task at hand but they also need to be easy to use for a Teen or Pre-Teen. But truly a lot of what we buy them is totally impractical as well as age inappropriate, or it’s so unsuitable it actually make things worse!
So to help you take some of the guesswork out of this Annual Trek and make sure you get the tools that will actually work for your Teen or Pre-Teen so they can be more successful- I’d like to share with you My list of Tried & True Organizing Supplies. It’s your Free gift for signing up for our Newsletter. This Supply List is the very same one I use for my Coaching clients and in my Organizing 101 program. So you know it’s very well researched not to mention road tested by some of the most challenging situations. Enjoy!
