Life Coaching for ADHD and/or Addiction Recovery
Unwanted behaviours and traits are not proof that you’re bad or broken, but evidence that you’re not getting your needs met...
' The worst loneliness is not to be comfortable with yourself. ' Mark Twain
I know how that feels, because I’m ADHD as well as a person in Addiction Recovery myself, and I was stuck in that fruitless, fixing shame cycle for over 20 years, sadly learning the hard way that this approach was never going to generate the lasting changes I yearned for.
When we continue to approach complex conditions like ADHD and addictions with the fix and control mentality versus the understand and nurture approach, the cost can be steep…
We lose valuable time, money, confidence, relationships, creative and career opportunities and, ultimately, the freedom to choose!
When you meet the needs the traits recede…
Those of us with ADHD and/or addictions have lives that are typically peppered with plenty of ‘off road’ journeys, traumas, failures and variations from the norm. As a result, we sensitively carry the scars of shame, low self esteem, low confidence and low trust in ourselves and our abilities. Which is why when coaching ADHD and /or addictions it’s essential that we have an approach of self acceptance and self compassion for our neurology and ways of being. An approach that does not do more harm. An approach that leads to self knowledge, self acceptance, self love and self trust.
When we get to that place, we are unstoppable!
“I must create my own system or forever be enslaved by another man’s.”
—William Blake
Hi. I’m Diane O’Reilly...
I’m ADHD myself and an ADDCA, ADHD Life Coach graduate and STILL HERE Recovery Coach graduate. I have 15 years of experience coaching hundreds of ADHD lives, as well as over 3 decades of personal sobriety from Alcohol Use Disorder. I’m thrilled to be able to stand at the intersection between these 2 very connected conditions and to point the way forward for those coming along the same path.
Whether you are seeking support for ADHD or for Addiction Recovery or both…
“You Are In The Right Place”
—Recovery Slogan
I’ve have a Holistic approach to coaching ADHD & Addiction Recovery that considers the complexities of our neurology.
I believe in a thorough Intake Phase to our Coaching, ensuring we have clarity of purpose and a clear recognition of all the aspects of your life that are draining and depleting you.
This way we can make a plan to move forward in a way that makes success possible.
“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.”
—Carl Bard.
I work with Adults with ADHD whether they are addressing addictions or not. They typically want support and an experienced accountability partner to set goals, make a plan, break it down into doable steps and walk together to begin to take actions while exploring and challenging the very real obstacles to success.
Some of the typical challenges we work on are:
Low Motivation, Procrastination, Poor Impulse Control, Poor Self Awareness, Over analyzing and Perfection, Poor self care habits, Low Self esteem, Negative beliefs, Draining habits and Addictions.
Ways we can work together:
One-to-One Monthly Coaching
for ADHD
Consistent weekly sessions, 1-1 attention and in-between session check-ins, gives you the accountability partner needed to define goals, generate momentum and get the results you deserve.
Addiction Recovery Coaching
Begins with a Discovery Call and an honest appraisal of your needs, challenges and goals followed up with a personalized proposal on the kind of work we can do together.
A typical coaching agreement would include an Intake month followed by around 5-6 months of weekly Coaching.
Includes in-between session accountability text check ins.
Sober Companion
Not everyone wanting to get sober can take months off work to go to a Rehab or is able to attend a 12 step group.
This alternative service gives you another option.
A trusted sobriety partner, a private and anonymous Life Coach and accountability partner.
This specialized service is typically round the clock support for the first phase of recovery or for challenging one off situations.

Honestly, tonight truly felt so amazing, it’s one of the nights that no matter where I land, it’s something I will always remember. All of this is because of you, I was in a dark hole with a variety of things clashing in at once, and you helped me to push myself forward, I can’t thank you enough.
